New Adventures

What does 2019 have in store for you? Do you have some cool adventures planned? I would love to hear!

I have just realized that day to day life in my household in changing. My husband retired from his job of 27 years this month. I have been joking that my mornings will never be the same again. Today it finally hit home that he did not leaving the house at 4am to drive to the city.

I have a routine in the morning and I’m going to stick to it. We have the best massage chair. Each morning I sit there while I wake up, have my hot water and lemon, read a few pages of inspiration, write in my journal and check Social Media and email. This takes about 20 minutes. Then….most mornings I go downstairs and follow a workout plan. This morning walking downstairs was a bit painful as we skied yesterday and my quads were taking to me all the way down the stairs.

I need a routine each morning it works for me! What about you?

So new adventures, the title of this BLOG post is exactly that….there will be lots in the next few months. Since I am still working (part-time) building my home business my days off this winter will be spent skiing….mid week and no more weekends! In the summer camping, golfing, biking and paddling…can’t wait!

And a new grandson coming in April….so exciting

SO another adventure this spring as we plan to drive across Canada to Quebec, where we will meet Arthur’s baby brother! I look forward to this journey and am excited to be a Grandma again. Another reason for this journey is to attend my nephews wedding in Toronto. It will be great to see brothers and sister-in-laws that I have not seen for years!
It has been over 20 years since I drove across Canada, from Ontario to Alberta in search of something new and exciting. It will be so wonderful to see this great country again!

What’s happening for you?

I look forward to sharing this adventure with you and also look forward to hearing about the excitement in your life. Leave a comment or connect with me via email juliegibson@outlook.com and let’s catch up!

Simple Pleasures

I just returned from 10 days in Montana. It’s a place my husband and I enjoy to go as it’s only a three hour drive. After a long season working at the golf course, it was nice to get away…..to another golf course! (Smile)

We have golfing, biking and horses available everyday. These are my simple pleasures in summer and fall. The picture you see here was part of a wedding photo shoot with horses and riders. I was the “Older” Bride of the group! My husband Kent took at least 400 photos! It was fun to play dress up for a few hours. It was a simple pleasure that day!

When life gets busy, it’s nice to enjoy simple pleasures. Leave a comment and let me know what it is you enjoy doing that doesn’t take so much time and energy. Is it going for a walk through the leaves or taking a drive in the country? At this time of year as we prepare for winter I think it’s important to get outside everyday. The winter is long and although the days can be sunny we tend to stay indoors.

So during these last few weeks of fall enjoy each day, find something simple to do to find some joy. Your body needs to store up this healthy energy for cold and flu season and for surviving our winter.

If you tend to catch every cold or want to protect your immune system leading up to winter I have a solution that will work for you!

I would love to hear from you. Maybe this little encouragement is all you needed today to find a simple pleasure. Please share!

Have a wonderful week wherever you are today!

Love what you do

"The only way to do great work is to love what you do." —Steve Jobs

Steve says it all in one small sentence. Do you love what you do? Let me tell you the hardest thing to do in life is make a change. I have made a few changes in my life. It takes patience and lots of support to take the first step.

If you are not happy, especially as we start the new year, that is the 1st sign. I have learned by the positive changes I have made in my life. As I continue on this Blog journey I will share with you where I have been and where I have come in life. The whole point of this journey is to inspire you. When I first moved to Alberta almost 20 years ago I had a young family that I was raising on my own.  When we first moved I was looking for a new job. My children were in Grade 3, 8 and 9 so while they were at school I looked for work, enrolled in computer courses and did something for me.  The something I did was follow my passion for skiing. I also enrolled in courses to upgrade my computer skills.  Both of these changes led me to a new job working in computer training and becoming a much more athletic skier. These are both still passions of mine, but without the first step they might have just been hobbies.

This week I have taken time away to work on the next steps. Time away from my home and from day to day schedules and to be recharged. The funny thing is to be recharged I also have to be active. Since you now know my winter activity is skiing, that is what I will do this week. Stay tuned for action shots from the slopes.

Yours in inspiration

Julie

Start Small

"No matter how small you start, start something that matters." - Brendon Burchard

My small Grandson Arthur....showing you just a small part

My small Grandson Arthur....showing you just a small part

As we start the New Year we are bombarded with having to start something new. A new exercise program, a diet, or catch up with an old friend.  I decided to read a new book, called High Performance Habits.  This quote is from that book. This sentence confirmed what I am doing in my life right now. I started a new website to let others know that I am here to help you on your journey. Let me inspire you to be your best self!

Every small step matters. Think about what you are doing in your life right now.  Be grateful that what you are doing matters.  If you have an empty feeling or would like to step out of your comfort zone, talk to me.

Let me know what small steps you are taking. If you are looking to get out of your comfort zone, leave a comment or contact me. It's always great to connect with new people!
