New Adventures

What does 2019 have in store for you? Do you have some cool adventures planned? I would love to hear!

I have just realized that day to day life in my household in changing. My husband retired from his job of 27 years this month. I have been joking that my mornings will never be the same again. Today it finally hit home that he did not leaving the house at 4am to drive to the city.

I have a routine in the morning and I’m going to stick to it. We have the best massage chair. Each morning I sit there while I wake up, have my hot water and lemon, read a few pages of inspiration, write in my journal and check Social Media and email. This takes about 20 minutes. Then….most mornings I go downstairs and follow a workout plan. This morning walking downstairs was a bit painful as we skied yesterday and my quads were taking to me all the way down the stairs.

I need a routine each morning it works for me! What about you?

So new adventures, the title of this BLOG post is exactly that….there will be lots in the next few months. Since I am still working (part-time) building my home business my days off this winter will be spent skiing….mid week and no more weekends! In the summer camping, golfing, biking and paddling…can’t wait!

And a new grandson coming in April….so exciting

SO another adventure this spring as we plan to drive across Canada to Quebec, where we will meet Arthur’s baby brother! I look forward to this journey and am excited to be a Grandma again. Another reason for this journey is to attend my nephews wedding in Toronto. It will be great to see brothers and sister-in-laws that I have not seen for years!
It has been over 20 years since I drove across Canada, from Ontario to Alberta in search of something new and exciting. It will be so wonderful to see this great country again!

What’s happening for you?

I look forward to sharing this adventure with you and also look forward to hearing about the excitement in your life. Leave a comment or connect with me via email and let’s catch up!

If I knew then.....

Have you ever said to yourself, "if I knew then what I know now". It would be incredible how focused and brilliant we would all be. We have undoubtedly come along way, each and every one of us. We need to celebrate those successes and failures and move on.

Let me give you and example of something I wish I knew then.......if I knew that sitting in the sun with baby oil all over my skin and aluminum reflectors under my chin was not good for my skin, I think I would have protected my skin from the sun. As a result of this activity as a teenager, I developed Melanoma in 2006, the worse kind of skin cancer. I underwent a skin graft on my leg and spent many weeks recovering. I was lucky then and every year at my check up I feel very fortunate.

I remember that summer of 2006 as I was afraid to go outside. If I did I worn long sleeves, pants and a hat! I am still very careful in the sun, especially as I love to be outdoors! When I golf in the summer or ski in the winter I have my skin protected. Did you know that your skin is your largest organ? When you think about that it’s important to protect the skin you are in :)

I thought I would share this story with you to let you know that my product partner USANA has developed a high performing skincare line called Celavive. I trust my skin to this product, especially knowing that the day cream has SPF 30. My dermatologist told me years ago that SPF 30 was all I needed. It also has a self preserving function to help your skin battle the most common signs of skin ageing, including wrinkles, dryness and loss of elasticity! It’s never too late to protect your largest organ. That is definitely important to me.

If you would like to learn more, please leave a comment or reach out to me via text or email, I think when we share stories that are important to us, we inspire others!!

MY HUSBAND also uses celavive and loves it especially after shaving!

Simple Pleasures

I just returned from 10 days in Montana. It’s a place my husband and I enjoy to go as it’s only a three hour drive. After a long season working at the golf course, it was nice to get away… another golf course! (Smile)

We have golfing, biking and horses available everyday. These are my simple pleasures in summer and fall. The picture you see here was part of a wedding photo shoot with horses and riders. I was the “Older” Bride of the group! My husband Kent took at least 400 photos! It was fun to play dress up for a few hours. It was a simple pleasure that day!

When life gets busy, it’s nice to enjoy simple pleasures. Leave a comment and let me know what it is you enjoy doing that doesn’t take so much time and energy. Is it going for a walk through the leaves or taking a drive in the country? At this time of year as we prepare for winter I think it’s important to get outside everyday. The winter is long and although the days can be sunny we tend to stay indoors.

So during these last few weeks of fall enjoy each day, find something simple to do to find some joy. Your body needs to store up this healthy energy for cold and flu season and for surviving our winter.

If you tend to catch every cold or want to protect your immune system leading up to winter I have a solution that will work for you!

I would love to hear from you. Maybe this little encouragement is all you needed today to find a simple pleasure. Please share!

Have a wonderful week wherever you are today!

Be Radiant for Fall

This morning the furnace came on in the house it was 17C. I do love the change in seasons, but not sure I’m ready just yet for the white stuff.

I thought I would let you know that I am co-hosting our 3rd Be Radiant Program starting September 24th. Are you feeling a little overwhelmed about getting out of your routine this summer when it comes to eating? Have you been invited to too many BBQ’s or Pot Lucks and just need to get back to basics?

If so, please check out this short video recorded this week that introduces the Be Radiant Program. There is still time to join us and I would love to have you in our group.

I know I absolutely have more success when I have accountability each week.

You can also check out my co-hosts website, Nancy Crites who brings her expertise of Holistic Nutrition and QiGong to our group

Leave a comment or text me to say “Im in” :)

20 Years Ago.....

It was 20 years ago............
I decide to pack up at the age of 40 with my three amazing children and start a new life in Calgary Alberta. We had lived for 10 years in a small town in Ontario and it was time to move on to different opportunities.

We had a family meeting talked about the pro's and con's and decided to take a chance. We packed up our house and packed our Van and started our week long journey driving across Canada. We drove from a small town called Brighton, outside of Toronto and drove across the country. We had a place to live and the kids all walked to their new school up the street!

For some reason I decided to have a professional photo taken....this was the photo!
No digital photos 20 years ago, so someday I will find some more of our adventure across Canada!

I started over and while kids were in school, I looked for work.

Fast forward 20 years. I have worked in the IT field, started my own Training and Consulting company and now work at a golf course part time and live my dream being an Entrepreneur supporting others with their health and wellness. My children are now living in Quebec Canada, London UK and Hamburg Germany.  They still come home to Alberta.

If you are looking for help to deal with your health, stress or to ME. I've walked the walk, come share your story with me!!
